MILDENHALL hope to be able to host the re-staging of the British Under-19 Final – after Sunday’s event was curtailed after five races.
Pre-meeting rain created difficult track conditions and a halt was called after a succession of falls, with Eastbourne youngster Nathan Ablitt suffering rib damage.
The club said: “We would like to apologise for today’s meeting being called off after five heats. After Greg (Palmer), Bob (Ellis) and the track staff had worked tirelessly across Saturday and Sunday we were confident of a good meeting.
“Unfortunately rain ahead of the opening race left some track issues. As a club we felt conditions were improving at the time racing was curtailed and some riders felt the same.
“However, with safety at the forefront of all we do at Mildenhall Speedway we accepted the decision made.
“We will be speaking with Neil Vatcher early next week and will provide new dates when hopefully this meeting can fit into the speedway calendar.”
Supporters unable to make use of their readmission ticket should visit www.mildenhall-speedway.com for details of how to claim a refund.
