Middlesbrough Tigers v King’s Lynn Young Stars

KING’S LYNN Young Stars made it two wins on the bounce with an emphatic 55-35 victory at Middlesbrough on Saturday.

The Young Stars built on their recent home success over Buxton with a dominant display at the Ecco Arena to run up a 20-point margin.

Jake Mulford scored a 12-point maximum from four rides with skipper Simon Lambert dropping just one point with 13+1 as both starred on their regular Championship home track.

Meanwhile the visitors were indebted to two excellent guests as Jack Roberts piled up 11+2 from seven rides, all of those points coming in his first five outings, as he stood in for Ollie Binns at reserve, whilst Ryan Ingram collected an impressive 11 points from four rides as he replaced Jack Kingston. Nathan Ablitt top scored for the Tigers with 11.

King’s Lynn manager Jason Pipe said: “It was a really good performance. I didn’t expect to win by that margin, but it was clearly a massive help having Simon and Jake on their regular home track.

“Obviously it made a big difference having Ryan and Jack guesting – you work within the rules and sometimes it works for you, sometimes it works against you, and tonight it just worked for us.

“Everything is positive in the camp at the moment, that’s two wins on the trot, and hopefully we can keep it going on Thursday.”
