Belle Vue Aces v Leicester Lions

BELLE Vue stretched their lead at the top of the ROWE Motor Oil Premiership to seven points by slamming second-placed Leicester 61-29 at the National Speedway Stadium.

The Aces maintained their outstanding form around their home circuit in 2026 by repeating the scoreline from the Lions’ previous visit back in June in a meeting with plenty of fine racing.
Skipper Brady Kurtz scored a 12-point full maximum from four rides and Jason Doyle (12+2) dropped just one point from five outings – but this was another powerful all-round display with the visitors limited to three race wins.

Two of those came from No.1 Ryan Douglas who notched 10+1 from six rides as his side were brought down to earth following their KO Cup success last week.

Aces manager Mark Lemon said: “Our form around the National Speedway Stadium has been quite phenomenal from top to tail.

“We lost Dan (Bewley), but bringing in Doyley has been pretty much like for like, which is a pretty big statement to say with how good Dan is, but the whole camp is full of confidence.

“It August, it’s not play-off time yet so we’ve just got to make sure we maintain this going into the play-offs. We have one foot in there now with this win tonight, and Leicester are certainly a rival for that

Lions boss Stewart Dickson said: “We’re still in second place in the table, but obviously our away form on a couple of tracks is a bit of a concern.

“If you’re going to win the play-offs, you’re going to have to come here and do a better job than what we’ve done this season.

“We prepared for the meeting with the right intentions and I can’t question the riders’ effort. They were all trying really hard, but unfortunately we’ve been blown away again here for the third time this season, and we have to try and figure that out.”
