Berwick Bandits v Workington Comets

BERWICK stunned Workington with an incredible start at Shielfield Park to take control of their MAXiCab KO Cup quarter-final.

The Bandits stormed to seven 5-1s in the opening eight races to lead 39-9, at which point there was a delay after a crash involving home racer Reid Battye and the Comets’ Niklas Holm Jakobsen.

After the resumption there was a revival from the visitors who actually outscored their hosts over the remaining seven races as the first leg ended 58-32.

Peter Kildemand scored a 12-point maximum for the Bandits with Victor Palovaara picking up 11, whilst Battye (6+3) was unbeaten until his crash. Jonas Jeppesen scored nine for the Comets.
