Redcar Bears v Scunthorpe Scorpions

REDCAR raced to an emphatic 58-32 win over Scunthorpe at the Ecco Arena to move to the top of the BSN Series Northern group.

The holders had lost by ten points in the reverse fixture last weekend but they wiped out that deficit in the early stages on their home track as they started the meeting with three successive 5-1s.

Nicolai Klindt marked his debut with 11+2 from five rides, a score matched by Jason Edwards, whilst Jake Allen picked up 10 and reserves Jody Scott and Ace Pijper combined for 14+3, with the Bears’ only last place coming when Jordan Jenkins suffered mechanical trouble on the last bend of Heat 9.

Josh Pickering, with 16 points, accounted for half of the Scorpions’ total, as the Australian went unbeaten with five straight wins after conceding a 5-1 to Klindt and Jake Mulford in Heat 1.
