King’s Lynn Young Stars v Plymouth Centurions

KING’S Lynn rounded off their successful NDT season with a hard-fought 46-44 win over Plymouth at the Adrian Flux Arena.

The Young Stars clinched the league title last weekend and they were presented with the silverware in their final meeting of the campaign.

On-track they were given a tough test by the Centurions, who fought back from ten points down to force a last heat decider, where Luke Harrison split Ben Trigger and Joe Thompson to secure a narrow home victory.

Jody Scott scored a 12-point maximum for the Young Stars with Cooper Rushen on 11 and Harrison on 10. Thompson (11) and Trigger (10+1) led the way for the Centurions, who became the only team to take an aggregate point off King’s Lynn this season.

Young Stars boss Jason Pipe said: “I told the lads to relax and enjoy themselves because it was a celebration night, but obviously it’s always nice to finish the season off with a win.

“Full credit to Plymouth, they ran us close and in my eyes they have given us our toughest two meetings in this competition, and I would say for the fans that was the best home match of the season of the four.

“We got the right result in the end which is what we all wanted.”
