Leicester Lion Cubs v Middlesbrough Tigers

LEICESTER kept up the pressure in the WSRA National Development League by defeating Middlesbrough 51-38 to take all three points from the meeting.

The Lion Cubs are four points adrift of leaders Oxford but they do have a match in hand on the Chargers.

Skipper Ben Trigger led the scoring for the home side at the Hydroscand Arena, Beaumont Park with 14+2, whilst Cooper Rushen (13) and impressive reserve Ryan Ingram (12+1) also delivered strong displays.

Ace Pijper kept up his excellent form with 15 from six rides for the Tigers, and Jamie Halder added 12, but they also saw Stene Pijper suffer a wrist injury in a Heat 10 crash.

Leicester manager Jen Crossland said: “Their performance was great. Today was crucial. We’ve got to win all of our matches to try and catch Oxford, so we’re going to go for it now.

“Ryan Ingram produced an outstanding performance today, Cooper and Ben were also outstanding, but Ryan is just coming through the ranks and doing really well.”
