Steelers v Edinburgh Academy (at Scunthorpe)

EDINBURGH notched their second away win of the WSRA NDL campaign with a 52-38 victory over a depleted Steelers side at Scunthorpe, taking them up to second in the league table.

The Monarchs Academy, who had previously been successful at Middlesbrough, won all but two of the races with Connor Coles racking up 15 points from six rides, Sam McGurk had 14+2, and guest Ben Trigger collected a 12-point maximum at No.1

The home side were without all of their regular top five, and guest Ryan Ingram led their scoring with 10+1 in a fine performance at No.5.

Edinburgh boss Scott Wilson said: “It was a very professional performance from the boys tonight.

“We went into the meeting as favourites due to the Steelers’ injury issues, but there was still a job to do and we took care of business.”
