Report

EDINBURGH made it two home wins out of two in the WSRA NDL as they overcame Belle Vue 49-39 despite a brilliant show from Colts No.1 Will Cairns.

The 15-year-old raced to an 18-point maximum with six race wins from six, but it was the Monarchs Academy who proved the more solid side in an eventful meeting.

Reserve Mark Parker enjoyed an excellent night’s work with 11+3 from six rides, whilst heat leaders Connor Coles and Dayle Wood both collected 11+1.

For the Colts the only consistent support for Cairns came from guest Danny Phillips who scored 10+1 from six rides.

Edinburgh boss Scott Wilson said: “It was great to get the win, we’ve given ourselves a lead to take down to Belle Vue which we knew we had to do.

“There were some good races out there, I’m happy with the win and we move on to the next one.

“I felt that we always had the meeting in hand in terms of getting the win, but Belle Vue made it very difficult for us to pull away. The guests they brought in know Armadale very well which made it difficult for us to get any advantages.”
