Report

LEICESTER took another step towards the WSRA NDL title with an emphatic 54-36 win at Middlesbrough.

The Lion Cubs have won all seven of their league matches this season, and they are now three points clear of Oxford at the top of the table with one fixture in hand.

Guest William Cairns piled up 15+1 from six rides on Teesside whilst Lion Cubs youngster Sonny Springer also impressed with 12+2, and captain Joe Thompson added 11+1.

Jake Mulford led the way for the Tigers with 13, and he was unbeaten before losing out to Thompson in Heat 15.

Leicester manager Dave Howard said: “Everybody rode great tonight, and it was a very good away win for us, which puts us in a very good position in the league now.

“Sonny started superbly, being unbeaten in his first four rides, and the team as a whole put on a great performance. Everybody can take some credit tonight.”
