LEICESTER march on at the top of the WSRA National Development League after racing to an emphatic 63-27 win over Sheffield on Sunday.
The Lion Cubs made it five wins out of five so far with their biggest margin of victory so far this season.
Reserve Vinnie Foord was unbeaten from four rides with 9+3 whilst captain Joe Thompson led the scorechart with 14 from five outings and Max James added 10+2. Nathan Ablitt and Luke Harrison both picked up eight for the visitors.
Foord said: “That’s my first paid maximum for Leicester so it’s pretty good and I’m buzzing with it.
“It’s all about aggression really, I never make the start – the last one I did make it just about, but it’s about that aggression and who can hold it for the longest going into the corner. The engine is working well, I can’t complain and I didn’t change anything on the bike all day.”
Tigers Cubs assistant boss Paul Tatam said:” We were beaten by the better team.
“Our boys tried their hardest but not many teams will win against Leicester. We just move onto the next one.”
