Report
BELLE VUE slammed in the biggest team total score in British Speedway so far this season with a 67-23 demolition of Kent in the NDL.
The dominant Colts won all 15 races with Jack Smith scoring a 14+1 paid maximum, Sam Hagon also unbeaten with 12 – and James Pearson (12) was denied a five-ride maximum by mechanical trouble on the last bend of Heat 15.
They are now third in the table with a crucial away match at Berwick to come next weekend, whilst the Royals’ top scorer in Manchester was guest Jacob Hook with nine.
Colts star Matt Marson (8+2) said: “We were a bit gutted not to hit 70! But joking aside, we are all super stoked with this performance and we couldn’t have asked much more of ourselves.
“We were gutted to away from Iwade empty-handed and we were hoping to get the two league points, and the aggregate if we could and we’ve managed to get all three.
“We were cautiously optimistic about our chances of getting the bonus so to go from 18 points down on aggregate to winning by 26 is a job well done.”
