Report
BERWICK picked up their first NDL points of the season at the expense of Kent despite heavy mist forcing an early curtailment at Shielfield Park.
The Bullets led 43-23 after eleven races before SCB referee Jim McGregor called a halt due to visibility concerns, with the result standing.
Home skipper Greg Blair was unbeaten with nine points from his three rides, whilst Danny Phillips (8+1) was unbeaten until a Heat 9 disqualification for bringing down Nathan Ablitt. Ben Morley and Ablitt scored seven for the Royals.
Blair said: “Obviously I wanted it to continue as I was on a maximum.
“But in all seriousness it was getting more and more difficult to see what was ahead of you, so it was no real surprise when time was called on the action.
“I’m really pleased with the team performance and especially for Mason (Watson) and Josh (Embleton) to get among the points.”
