Report

GLASGOW took the honours in Friday’s Scottish derby with an emphatic 51-39 win at rivals Edinburgh.

The Tigers made it two out of two so far in the Cab Direct Championship and left the Monarchs with a home record of three defeats from three.

Skipper Tom Brennan (12+2) and Chris Harris (12+1) starred for the visitors whilst Claus Vissing dropped only one point with 9+2. Guest Richie Worrall dominated the Edinburgh scorechart with 15 points.

Glasgow boss Cami Brown said: “I was really pleased with the way our boys rode. They all got stuck in and produced vital race wins at vital times. It was a very professional job.

“Once again we were solid right the way through, that pleases me the most. We have so much strength in depth.

“We had to dig in at times. But Chris Harris and Tom Brennan both delivered when it really counted. I’d go as far to say as it was one of Tom’s best displays for the club.

“It’s the perfect start to our away league campaign. It’s also very sweet to win at our rivals for the fans. It was so good to see a huge amount of travelling support. That definitely lifted the boys. It’s a good night.”

Edinburgh boss Alex Harkess said: “We haven’t been good enough, but we might still have forced a last heat decider.

“I didn’t think that the referee made a very good decision in Heat 14. However, having said that, we let too many points slip away over the match.”
