GLASGOW took both match and aggregate points after overcoming rivals Edinburgh 51-39 in a feisty BSN Series encounter at Ashfield.
The Monarchs were competitive throughout and were only four points down after Heat 8, but back-to-back maximums for the home side put them in charge of the contest.
Chris Harris top-scored for the Tigers with 12+1 and Claus Vissing also marked his return to Ashfield with double figures as he collected ten.
The visitors were well served by their top two as former Tiger Craig Cook scored 12+1 and skipper Josh Pickering 11+1, but they lacked strength in the lower order.
Monarchs boss Alex Harkess said: “It’s a shame really – we just didn’t have enough at the bottom end.
“Early doors I thought we were in it, but the longer it went in the more we drifted away from it. Gating became more and more important, and we weren’t gating consistently, so it’s disappointing.”
GLASGOW 51: Chris Harris 12+1, Claus Vissing 10, Marcin Nowak 8+2, Benjamin Basso 7+1, Tom Brennan 7, Lee Complin 6+2, Ace Pijper 1.
EDINBURGH 39: Craig Cook 12+1, Josh Pickering 11+1, Kye Thomson 6+2, Jacob Hook 4+1, Paco Castagna 3, Lasse Fredriksen 2, Kyle Bickley 1.
