DAN Thompson dominated at Leicester with a 15-point maximum to head the qualifiers from Thursday’s British Semi-Final.
The Ipswich and Glasgow star went through the card with five straight wins at the Hydroscand Arena, Beaumont Park, and was joined on the rostrum by home racer Drew Kemp (14) and Leon Flint on 11.
Recent Leicester signing Dan Gilkes was also on the qualifying list with ten points, whilst the final two places for Belle Vue on May 12 were resolved in a three-rider run-off after Lewis Kerr, Craig Cook and Connor Mountain all finished on nine points.
Kerr won the race from the gate, but Mountain overtook Cook for second place and the last qualification slot as the former British Champion missed out.
Thompson said: “It was a perfect night really. I made all the right choices with my set-ups, and I’ve got to say thank-you to my mechanic Joe from Ipswich for helping me tonight.
“We really worked well together and got things sorted. It couldn’t have gone much better and I’ll see what I can do in the main event.”
