Report

POOLE further extended their unbeaten home run with a comfortable 58-32 win over Newcastle at Wimborne Road.

The result saw the Pirates hit the 58-point mark for the third time this season, having not lost on their own circuit since September 2019.

Steve Worrall scored a paid maximum (13+2) whilst skipper Danny King added 13+1 and reserve Drew Kemp impressed with 9+1. Guest Kyle Howarth led the way for the Diamonds with 12+1.

Kemp said: “I was on different engines tonight. I had an engine that I had been running all year really, and last week I had it back from the servicing and it wasn’t how I wanted it to be.

“So I thought I needed to change a few things, and I got one of my other fast engines and it seemed to go well once I got it set-up alright.

“It was obviously nice to finish on a win and a paid win, and it’s time to forget about that last place; that’s speedway, and things like that are going to happen, but as I say, as long as I can finish on a high then that’s good.”
