Berwick Bandits v Oxford Cheetahs

BERWICK kept up their powerful Shielfield Park form with a thumping 59-31 home win over Oxford.

Despite the margin of the final score, it was a highly entertaining meeting with reserve Jye Etheridge scoring a paid maximum (11+1) for the hosts, Ricky Wells topping their list with 12+2, and Chris Harris (12) unbeaten until a last-race mechanical failure.

The Cheetahs were limited to three race wins with Scott Nicholls totalling 10+1 for the visitors.

Berwick boss Gary Flint said: “After two away meetings where the lads battled hard all the way, but got nothing out of them, this was a show that we’re back, capable and desperate for league points which we all saw clearly tonight with a great performance.”
