BERWICK were 47-43 winners over Kent at Shielfield Park with the visitors limited to one league point in their play-off quest.
Youngster Leon Flint again starred for the Bandits with four race wins on his way to a 13-point haul as the home side produced a solid display to cover for unwell No.1 Nikolaj Busk Jakobsen.
Meanwhile the Kings’ big two of Troy Batchelor (15+1) and Scott Nicholls (12+2) combined for 5-1s in Heats 13 and 15 to ensure their side would take some reward from the meeting.
Berwick boss Gary Flint said: “Once again we, as a club, have presented 30 heats from 6.30, ending precisely at our curfew time of 9.30 and again this is a testament to our staff in all departments the riders of all four teams and the management of both clubs working efficiently together to present a slick and professional show, run well and at speed.
“We also took two fabulous wins, the Championship against a side brimming with world-class talent chasing the play-offs, so it’s been an excellent night all round.”
