ROYNON COMPLETES PIRATES

POOLE have completed the line-up for their Championship title defence with the signing of the experienced Adam Roynon.

The 34-year-old, who rode for Redcar and Scunthorpe last season, will occupy a reserve berth alongside Kyle Newman with the pair expected to give the Pirates significant strength in depth.

Promoter Dan Ford said: “Adam is a perfect fit for us. He is a 100 per cent trier and has an average that does not reflect his true ability.

“With him and Kyle at reserve we will have a very strong combination, possibly the most experienced pairing in the league.

“He might be starting on a 3.47 average, but I would expect him to substantially improve on the figure once he settles in here at Poole.”
