PREVIEW: POOLE v PLYMOUTH (Champ)

POOLE promoter Danny Ford expects another tough test tonight (Wednesday) against Plymouth as the Pirates look to build another home run.

The last meeting at Wimborne Road saw Championship leaders Leicester become the first visiting side in 24 matches to take victory, and the Gladiators are also fellow play-off contenders with a strong away record.

However, Plymouth are without Ben Barker after his crash at Peterborough on Monday, and they bring in Kyle Howarth to guest with rider-replacement in operation at No.1.

Ford said: “Without a doubt, Plymouth are going to provide stubborn opposition against us, and their league form has been pretty solid.

“Looking at their record they have not scored less than 41 points on their league travels this season, and you look at their side and instantly you see why. They are genuine play-off contenders, and they are riding high on confidence of late.

“Of course, our Cup victory against them was impressive but that doesn’t give us anything other than the bragging rights for Wednesday. They are going to be tough, and we need to have solid contributions right through the team.

“I do know that our lads are well capable of doing that, and so I think the stage is set for an intriguing meeting which should produce plenty of excitement and entertainment.”

POOLE: Danny King, Zach Cook, Steve Worrall, Ben Cook, Richard Lawson, Drew Kemp, Nathan Ablitt.
PLYMOUTH: Edward Kennett r/r, Alfie Bowtell, Kyle Howarth, Michael Palm Toft, Hans Andersen, Ben Morley, Harry McGurk.
