PREVIEW: POOLE v LEICESTER (Champ)

POOLE co-promoter Danny Ford is warning his side to beware a Leicester backlash when the sides meet at Wimborne Road tonight (Wednesday).

The Pirates were victorious at the Paul Chapman & Sons Arena last weekend, before winning at Kent on Tuesday – whilst the Lions also go into the match off the back of an away win at Plymouth.

Drew Kemp comes in for the absent Ondrej Smetana for the hosts with James Wright continuing as a guest for the injured Ben Cook.

Ford said: “Whilst there is still a very long way to go before the league title is decided, it is victories at places like Leicester that can prove to be critical. They are a very strong side and with such a proud home record behind them.

“So that defeat will have hurt them. That in itself spells danger. They will be even keener to come to us now and get a result, so Wednesday has all the ingredients for a great speedway meeting.”

Leicester No.1 Hans Andersen said: “Poole are a strong side as they showed on Saturday but we’re going to go there on Wednesday with an open mind, and we can probably turn them around.

“I did a decent guest booking for them in their first home meeting of the season, so I hope the fans start cheering me – and then boo me towards the end because that means we’ve won!”

POOLE: Rory Schlein, Drew Kemp, Steve Worrall, Stefan Nielsen, Danny King, James Wright, Danyon Hume.
LEICESTER: Hans Andersen, Dan Thompson, Nick Morris, Kyle Howarth, Ryan Douglas, Zaine Kennedy, Joe Thompson.
