PREVIEW: POOLE v LEICESTER (Champ Grand Final)

POOLE meet Leicester in the first leg of the Championship Grand Final at Wimborne Road tonight (Wednesday).

The title decider was delayed by the weather last weekend but now gets underway in Dorset, with the return in the East Midlands on Saturday.

The Pirates are at full strength and have been in impressive form in the run-up to the Final, whilst the Lions bring in Scott Nicholls to guest for captain Kyle Howarth who is out with illness.

Poole captain Danny King said: “It is going to be business as usual for us. We will be going out there to hit them hard from the outset and then build the biggest lead possible to take with us on Saturday.

“It’s going to be tough but this is a league title we are talking about and we will be up for it for sure.”

Stand-in Lions skipper Nick Morris said: “We had a good meeting at Poole at the start of the year where we beat them – unfortunately we didn’t in the last one (KO Cup), but hopefully we can come away with a win.

“We finished top in the league this season so we’ve been the best team overall, and we’ve got to be on our game.

“If we all do what we can do, there’s no reason why we can’t come away and win the whole show.”

POOLE: Danny King, Ben Cook, Steve Worrall, Drew Kemp, Richard Lawson, Zach Cook, Nathan Ablitt.
LEICESTER: Nick Morris, Connor Mountain, Richie Worrall, Scott Nicholls, Dan Thompson, Max Clegg, Joe Thompson.
