PREVIEW: POOLE v BERWICK (Champ)

POOLE bid to end their worst run of form since joining the Championship when they host Berwick at Wimborne Road tonight (Wednesday).

The Pirates are winless in three meetings having dropped points at home to both Leicester and Plymouth, and promoter Danny Ford is urging them to prove their title credentials once again.

Meanwhile Berwick, who are tenth in the table following re-calculation, hand debuts to new signings Jonas Knudsen and Nathan Stoneman, giving them a full one-to-seven for the first time since April.

Ford said: “We have been making things tough for ourselves in the past three meetings, and that is a habit we need to break out of as quickly as possible.

“We are a much better side than our results have shown and I have said before that there is a good deal more to come from this team, but we need to have everyone firing.

“We don’t need to press any alarm buttons just now, but we do need to stop our opponents making life difficult and we need to see evidence of that on Wednesday when Berwick come here.”

Bandits boss Gary Flint said: “It is never easy at Poole, but we travel with a team fully committed as we try to haul ourselves into the play-offs.

“Bomber’s (Chris Harris) a Wimborne Road specialist – not that there’s really any track he can’t ride superbly – while Nathan’s already been there as a guest for Oxford this season, and while it’s all new to Jonas he can’t wait to get on-track and racing in England.”

POOLE: Danny King, Zach Cook, Steve Worrall, Ben Cook, Richard Lawson, Drew Kemp, Nathan Ablitt.
BERWICK: Chris Harris, Theo Pijper, Jye Etheridge, Ricky Wells, Leon Flint, Jonas Knudsen, Nathan Stoneman.
