PREVIEW: OXFORD v PLYMOUTH (CJL)

OXFORD and Plymouth meet again at Cowley tonight (Wednesday) after fighting out a 45-45 draw in the Championship Jubilee League last night.

Gladiators No.1 Ben Barker scored a six-ride paid maximum (17+1) with Alfie Bowtell picking up 10+1.

Reserve Cameron Heeps led the way for the Cheetahs with 11+1 and Scott Nicholls scored 11, as they went to the top of the group standings thanks to two away points.

For Wednesday’s return match, Oxford have Jordan Jenkins guesting for Dillon Ruml (SON) with rider replacement still in operation for the injured Jack Thomas.

Josh Pickering makes a guest appearance for the Gladiators in place of Hans Andersen, with James Wright standing in once again, in place of Michael Palm Toft.

Oxford co-boss Peter Schroeck said: “We’ve now got to follow this up by not slipping up and by beating Plymouth at home.

“If we can get another three points against Plymouth, it leaves our destiny in our own hands heading into the two matches against Poole next week, when hopefully Jack Thomas will be back again. His left wrist swelled quite badly after riding at Birmingham, but he’s been resting it, and hopefully he will be back next week.”
