PREVIEW: NEWCASTLE v REDCAR (Champ)

NEWCASTLE return to home action after a three-week break in fixtures at Brough Park when they host Redcar in a local derby today (Sunday).

The Diamonds’ last fixture on their own circuit was the abandoned match against Glasgow, with track work having been completed since that time.

Kyle Howarth guests at No.1 for the injured Bradley Wilson-Dean, but Paul Starke is also ruled out after a crash at Ipswich on Thursday and the Diamonds operate rider replacement.

The Bears name a full-strength line-up as they go for a second away win of the Championship campaign having already been successful at Berwick.

Co-promoter Jamie Swales said: “If we are going to win this meeting we will need to fight for every point and it will not be a walkover.

“The lads will be reminded of this on track walk, there is no room for complacency when you are targeting four league points.”
