PREVIEW: LEICESTER v POOLE (Champ Grand Final)

LEICESTER and Poole are set to finally resolve the Championship Grand Final on the neutral territory of King’s Lynn tonight (Friday).

The Pirates take a 49-41 lead into the second leg which has been subject to several postponements due to weather and track issues in the East Midlands, and will now take place at the Adrian Flux Arena.

Both teams declare full-strength line-ups with Leicester No.1 Nick Morris delaying his flight back to Australia in order to ride, whilst captain Kyle Howarth is back after missing the first leg.

The Lions’ Richie Worrall and the Pirates’ Richard Lawson could be key figures as both will be racing on their regular Premiership track.

Leicester will once again go into the meeting with Garry May standing in as team manager for Stewart Dickson, who is recovering from illness.

May said: “I’ll gee the boys up just like I did at Poole, and we’ll all talk as we go through the meeting.

“I just want to win the league for Stewart, and that’s the aim.”

Poole promoter Dan Ford said: “We will be going into the meeting as if it is a one-off and we need to win it.

“The intention will be that our eight-point advantage that the lads worked hard to establish after being ten down at one stage, should just be there to put the pressure on Leicester.”

LEICESTER: Nick Morris, Connor Mountain, Richie Worrall, Dan Thompson, Kyle Howarth, Joe Thompson, Max Clegg.
POOLE: Danny King, Ben Cook, Steve Worrall, Drew Kemp, Richard Lawson, Zach Cook, Nathan Ablitt.
