PREVIEW: KENT v SCUNTHORPE (Champ)

SCUNTHORPE head to Kent tonight (Tuesday) with the pressure on for a place in the Championship play-offs.

The Scorpions lost at home to Leicester last weekend and wrap up their home campaign against Poole, with more points required to secure a top-six finish.

The Kings still have an outside chance of breaking into the play-offs themselves, and they name a full-strength line-up.

Scunthorpe have changes in their middle order due to the absences of Tero Aarnio (visa issues), Jordan Palin (injured) and Thomas Jorgensen (Swedish League). Broc Nicol and Jack Thomas come in as guests for the visitors.

Scorpions boss Dave Peet said: “We hung in there at Glasgow on Sunday, but just missed out. I feel if we battle in a similar manner at Kent, it can come our way. We certainly could do with a good result in terms of our battle for a play-off place.

“Kings have recently strengthened up with the addition of Troy Batchelor, but we’ve picked two guests who have both scored well at Kent this season, while our skipper Simon Lambert is a former Kent rider and could be a real trump card at reserve. It’s all to race for.”

KENT: Troy Batchelor, Ben Morley, Paul Starke, Cameron Heeps, Scott Nicholls, Jake Mulford, Dan Gilkes.
SCUNTHORPE: Adam Ellis, Jack Thomas, Theo Pijper, Broc Nicol, Thomas Jorgensen r/r, Josh MacDonad, Simon Lambert.
