PREVIEW: GLASGOW v SCUNTHORPE (Champ, 3pm)

SCUNTHORPE are targeting a repeat of 2019 success when they visit Glasgow today (Sunday) with the new start time of 3pm.

The meeting has been brought forward by three hours due to an adverse weather forecast for later in the day.

The Scorpions pulled off a big 53-37 win at Ashfield just over two years ago with skipper Simon Lambert scoring 12+5 at reserve – a position he holds again for this meeting.

And with pressure now on for their play-off place, they are hoping for another big display, with Kasper Andersen – who scored 16+1 for Berwick at the same venue last week – guesting for the absent Tero Aarnio.

Scunthorpe boss Dave Peet said: “We’ve chosen Kasper as our guest on the strength of his performance at Glasgow last week, while we also have several other riders who are very handy around the Ashfield track.

“We’re not going up there to make up the numbers. We intend to give Glasgow a real challenge for the league points, because a win for us would be invaluable in terms of keeping us on target for the play-offs.”

GLASGOW: Craig Cook, Broc Nicol, Sam Jensen, Tom Brennan, Ricky Wells, Jack Thomas, Connor Bailey.
SCUNTHORPE: Adam Ellis, Jordan Palin r/r, Theo Pijper, Kasper Andersen, Thomas Jorgensen, Josh MacDonald, Simon Lambert.
