PREVIEW: GLASGOW v POOLE (PO SF)

POOLE take a 30-point lead to Glasgow today (Sunday, 6pm) as they look to continue their push to retain the Championship title.

The Pirates dominated the first leg of the play-off semi-final at Wimborne Road to win 60-30, with the aggregate winners set to face Leicester in the Grand Final.

Both sides had expected to make changes due to the FIM European Under-23 Team Final in Poland, but with that meeting at Tarnow being postponed, Tom Brennan is available for the Tigers as is Drew Kemp for the Pirates.

The home side continue to operate rider replacement for Ulrich Ostergaard, with Paul Starke once again guesting for Danyon Hume.

Pirates co-promoter Danny Ford said: “We certainly put ourselves in the driving seat after Wednesday’s awesome performance and we will be keen to stay in that position, but it is important that we maintain our focus and do not allow things to run away from us through complacency.

“Glasgow will be sore after that result as they are a proud club and they will be keen to make us work for the points that we need to go through. You would expect that in any case, as there is a potential league title hanging on it.

“Our lads have worked really hard to get into this position and I know that they are ultra-keen to finish the job.”

GLASGOW: Benjamin Basso, Ulrich Ostergaard r/r, Craig Cook, Broc Nicol, Tom Brennan, Paul Starke, Connor Bailey.
POOLE: Danny King, Ben Cook, Steve Worrall, Drew Kemp, Richard Lawson, Zach Cook, Nathan Ablitt.
