PREVIEW: GLASGOW v POOLE (Champ)

GLASGOW and Poole clash in a repeat of last season’s Championship Grand Final at Ashfield tonight (Friday).

The sides are up amongst the early pace setters once again and they start the meeting in second and fourth place respectively.

Tom Brennan and Drew Kemp miss the meeting as they represent GB in this weekend’s FIME European U23 Team Championship in Pardubice, with former Tigers man Justin Sedgmen guessing for Brennan, whilst the Pirates bring in Dillon Ruml for Kemp.

The meeting also sees former Poole duo Benjamin Basso and Danyon Hume, who were part of the title success over Glasgow, racing against their old club.

Hume said: “Poole are a good club, it’s going to be a tough one. I’m feeling confident and really want to come away with the win.

“It’s certainly going to be a good meeting for the fans to come and watch.”

Pirates promoter Danny Ford said: “As fixtures go, few if any come any tougher than meeting Glasgow on their home shale, but that does not mean we should be written off.

“We showed last Friday at Redcar that we can produce the big performances when it has been called for.”

GLASGOW: Craig Cook, Justin Sedgmen, Benjamin Basso, Danyon Hume, Ulrich Ostergaard, Broc Nicol, Connor Bailey.
POOLE: Danny King, Zach Cook, Steve Worrall, Ben Cook, Richard Lawson, Dillon Ruml, Nathan Ablitt.
