PREVIEW: GLASGOW v LEICESTER (Champ)
GLASGOW host Leicester in a clash of the top two in the Championship at Ashfield tonight (Friday).
The Tigers were edged out at Oxford in a last-heat decider on Wednesday, whilst the Lions are on a run of nine successive league wins, and this is always a high-profile encounter with the clubs having fought out the 2019 Grand Final.
The visitors were crowned league champions on that occasion, and tonight they bring in Connor Coles at reserve after the departure of Anders Rowe earlier this month.
Glasgow manager Cami Brown said: “We’ve got to pick ourselves up for a massive match on Friday and regroup.
“We’re getting that wee bit better gradually and hopefully a couple of the boys are feeling a bit better and we can put on a show.”
Lions boss Stewart Dickson said: “It’s going to be a tough meeting, and having watched them last Friday their reserves looked super-strong, plus I don’t expect Craig Cook to score four points again!
“But as ever we will travel looking to get something from the meeting, at least a point if we can, and if we do that then we’ll have done well.”
GLASGOW: Craig Cook, Connor Bailey, Ulrich Ostergaard, Benjamin Basso, Tom Brennan, Danyon Hume, Broc Nicol.
LEICESTER: Nick Morris, Connor Mountain, Richie Worrall, Joe Thompson, Kyle Howarth, Connor Coles, Dan Thompson.
