PREVIEW: GLASGOW v LEICESTER (Champ)
GLASGOW host Leicester at Ashfield today (Sunday, 6pm) in a meeting crucial to the race for the top two in the Championship.
A win for the Tigers will take them second and make them strong favourites for an automatic place in the semi-finals – but the Lions can still have a big say in that themselves if they can pull off an away win.
Glasgow boss Cami Brown said: “We’re into the play-offs but we need to be winning on Sunday if we want to get second.
“If we can win our last two meetings we’ll have a great chance of catching Redcar.
“But we know that Sunday will be our hardest home match of the season. Leicester are a strong side and have the chance to finish in the top two themselves – so there’s an incentive to come here and win.”
Leicester manager Stewart Dickson said: “When we race the way we did against Redcar for the first ten heats, we can beat anybody home and away.
“We need to improve on that and go the full 15 heats, and I know this team is more than capable of carrying that through.
“Glasgow are building this up to be one of their toughest fixtures of the season and I need to make sure my boys are as up for it as they are.”
GLASGOW: Craig Cook, Broc Nicol, Sam Jensen, Tom Brennan, Ricky Wells, Marcin Novak, Connor Bailey.
LEICESTER: Nick Morris, Dan Thompson, Kyle Howarth, Hans Andersen, Ryan Douglas, Joe Thompson, Zaine Kennedy.
