PREVIEW: EDINBURGH v SCUNTHORPE (Champ)

EDINBURGH are set to welcome back Lasse Fredriksen and James Sarjeant for tonight’s (Friday) home clash with Scunthorpe.

The sides meet home and away this weekend with the return at the Eddie Wright Raceway on Sunday, and they are direct rivals for a Championship play-off place.

But whilst the Monarchs have two injured riders returning, the Scorpions are without Jake Allen (broken scaphoid) and Jordan Palin, who crashed in a Great Britain training session on Thursday.

The visitors bring in Theo Pijper as a guest and also hand a debut to James Wright, who signed after Tero Aarnio was ruled out with his own injuries.

Scorpions promoter Rob Godfrey said: “It is tough covering for so many injured riders, but we do have a plan for tonight at Edinburgh.

“We know Theo Pijper is very strong around there, which is why we’ve brought him as a guest and we also have other riders who can compete around Armadale.”
