PREVIEW: EDINBURGH V POOLE (KOC Final)

EDINBURGH are back in Armadale action this afternoon (Saturday, 2.30pm) as they host Poole in the first leg of the Championship KO Cup Final.

The Monarchs will be looking to put a spanner in the works of the Pirates’ Double hopes, as the Dorset side also have the league Grand Final to look forward to against Glasgow.

Jason Edwards continues to guest for the home side at reserve whilst the visitors bring in Connor Bailey to replace the injured Stefan Nielsen.

Poole co-promoter Danny Ford said: “Edinburgh will have a done a lot of racing by Saturday as it is their third meeting in as many days.

“For our lads, although Rory (Schlein), Danny (King), Ben (Cook) and Danyon (Hume) all rode in Schleiny’s Farewell Meeting on Monday, there will have been plenty of time off the bike since our last competitive match last Saturday.

“Whether that will work for or against us remains to be seen, but what we do know is that we are going to have to improve on the gating we showed last Wednesday at Wimborne Road and put in a showing just as we did at Leicester.”

EDINBURGH: Sam Masters, Anders Rowe, Kye Thomson, Josh Pickering, Richie Worrall, Drew Kemp, Jason Edwards.
POOLE: Steve Worrall, Danyon Hume, Rory Schlein, Ben Cook, Danny King, Connor Bailey, Benjamin Basso.
