PREVIEW: EDINBURGH v GLASGOW (CJL)
SCOTTISH rivals Edinburgh and Glasgow clash at Armadale tonight (Friday) at the start of a decisive weekend in their Championship Jubilee League group.
Both clubs have won their matches so far against Berwick, with the Tigers also visiting Shielfield Park on Saturday before hosting the return against the Monarchs on Sunday.
Edinburgh name a full-strength side whilst Glasgow bring in Aaron Summers for Tom Brennan and operate rider replacement for Benjamin Basso, as their two regulars are competing in the SON2 in Denmark.
Monarchs boss Alex Harkess said: “Glasgow will have a couple of riders missing though I don’t think they are any weaker.
“I feel that we are getting to the point now where we should be pretty dominant at home as they were last Friday. If they keep doing that, we will be OK.
“I’ve changed our reserves round for this weekend because I think it will give Jacob (Hook) a bit of a boost.”
Tigers manager Cami Brown said: “We’re taking this deadly serious – we want to get through and don’t want Edinburgh knocking us out of another competition after losing to them in the KO Cup.
“I hate going anywhere with a six-man team, but our hand is forced. Most of the other guests we could have booked are already riding.
“But with Ben going to second in the averages, everyone can have a rider replacement ride including Craig Cook.”
EDINBURGH: Sam Masters, Lasse Fredriksen, Kye Thomson, Paco Castagna, Josh Pickering, James Sarjeant, Jacob Hook.
GLASGOW: Craig Cook, Benjamin Basso r/r, Aaron Summers, Danyon Hume, Ulrich Ostergaard, Broc Nicol, Connor Bailey.
