PREVIEW: EASTBOURNE v SCUNTHORPE (Champ)/v KENT (NDL)

EASTBOURNE host Scunthorpe in a Championship clash at Arlington tonight (Saturday) which is followed by NDL action against Kent.

Both sides are forced into changes with the Eagles bringing in Zane Keleher to guest for Kyle Newman, who suffered a shoulder injury at Kent on Tuesday.

They also operate rider-replacement for Tom Brennan who races in the European Pairs Final alongside Scorpions’ No.1 Adam Ellis, whose absence is covered by r/r, with James Shanes replacing Theo Pijper who took a knock last week.

Eastbourne boss Trevor Geer is keen to avoid any further slips at home after losing against Leicester last week.

He said: “We repaired some of the damage with a win at Redcar but now we’ve got to go again and win a few times on the road.

“Having said that, our first job is to beat Scunthorpe on Saturday. Richard Lawson was at the top of his game at Kent on Tuesday and Edward Kennett was back to his dashing best in his last two rides.”

Scunthorpe promoter Rob Godfrey said: “We’re missing riders and they’re missing riders. As a result, it’s very hard to predict the result, so we’ll go into the meeting with the mindset that anything is possible.”

The following NDL fixture should see the Seagulls back at full strength with Nick Laurence back after missing Friday’s trip to Belle Vue.

Former Eastbourne rider Kelsey Dugard returns for the Royals, but star reserve Jake Mulford is unavailable and is replaced by Jamie Sealey.
