PREVIEW: BIRMINGHAM v LEICESTER (KOC)
BIRMINGHAM stage their first home meeting on their revamped home track against Leicester in the KO Cup tonight (Wednesday).
The Brummies have committed significant investment into the Perry Barr circuit over the winter after problems in 2021 and will now put it to the test against the Lions.
In terms of the tie itself, the East Midlands side are in full control after a 64-26 win at home, but Birmingham now include Adam Ellis in their side.
Brummies skipper Ashley Morris said: “I’m looking forward to going racing at Birmingham again. We’ve had some tough away meetings but it will be nice to race at Perry Barr.
“They’ve done some great work on the track and hopefully the racing will be great.
“We know how tough Leicester will be, they’ve made a flying start with two big wins so far, but we’ll be up for the challenge of trying to win the meeting.”
Lions boss Stewart Dickson said: “We’ve started the season very well, and we want to go there and win races, and hopefully the match itself.
“The guys are riding on the crest of a wave, confidence is high, and we know we’ll take a lot of fans there, so we look forward to putting on a good show both for them and for the Birmingham public.”
