PREVIEW: BIRMINGHAM v BERWICK (Champ)
BIRMINGHAM boss Laurence Rogers wants his side to kickstart their season by beating Berwick in their home league opener at Perry Barr tonight (Wednesday).
The Brummies have been limited to just ten races on their home circuit after a run of misfortune with the weather, but gave an encouraging display at Redcar last week.
James Shanes and James Pearson have declared themselves fit after recent crashes, whilst former Birmingham riders Chris Harris and Leon Flint return with the Bandits.
Rogers said: “We were beaten pretty comfortably by Berwick at their track a few weeks ago now, but I think it will be a very different meeting at Perry Barr.
“We know how good Bomber and Leon are around Birmingham but they’re certainly not unbeatable and at the end of the day, there are seven riders in a team.
“It might only be our first home league meeting, but it is a big one.
“We have to get out first points and our first win on the board and hopefully it proves to be a night that kickstarts our season.”
BIRMINGHAM: Claus Vissing, James Shanes, Josh Auty, Ashley Morris, Adam Ellis, Stefan Nielsen, James Pearson.
BERWICK: Chris Harris, Ty Proctor, Theo Pijper, Leon Flint, Ricky Wells, Jye Etheridge, Kyle Bickley.
