POOLE STAY COOL

POOLE co-promoter Danny Ford says they will take some consolation from being left to negotiate the Championship play-off quarter-finals.

The Pirates will finish third in the regular table, missing out on a top two finish after Glasgow’s win at Redcar on Sunday.

They are likely to face either Plymouth, Scunthorpe or Redcar in the quarter-finals depending on results over the next week.

Ford said: “We now know our fate is to contest the quarter-finals, but on one hand that could be advantageous as the extra meetings could keep us sharper.

“We have been putting in some good performances and just need to continue doing that.

“We might be out of the top two, but we are far from being out of the title race.”
