PIRATES SET HOME DATE

POOLE have confirmed they will stage the home leg of their Championship play-off semi-final next Wednesday (October 13).

The Pirates have choice of opposition after finishing top of the table, but will not be able to take a final decision until the quarter-final ties at Edinburgh and Leicester have been completed this weekend.

Co-promoter Danny Ford said: “Ordinarily, we would have taken the second leg as our home meeting, but time is very much against us as we head into mid-October and we still have KO Cup Final to organise and, hopefully, the play-off Final and Bjarne Pedersen’s Farewell meeting to slot in before the end of the month.

“It’s not ideal but it is a necessary move, and we can only hope that we attract a good turnout next Wednesday that will cheer the lads on to a decent win to strengthen our position ahead of the second leg.”
