PIRATES INTO LAST FOUR

POOLE romped to a 58-32 home win over Plymouth to confirm their place in the Championship KO Cup semi-finals.

Richard Lawson completed a profitable week against his former club with 14 from five rides, Steve Worrall added 11+2, and reserve Drew Kemp was voted rider of the night for his 10-point haul from four outings.

The Gladiators brought in Chris Harris to guest at No.1 and he contributed 13 points with four straight wins before he was defeated in Heat 15.

Kemp said: “It has been a good start to the year for me, and hopefully I can keep it going. It is good to be here at Poole and the lads are all offering great support and advice.

“It is important to me to have the experienced guys around to give me support and advice.

“Both Middlo (Neil Middleditch) and Havvy (Gary Havelock) have raced speedway and they know what it is all about, so I can only see coming to Poole as being a very positive thing.”
