PEARSON BACK FOR BRUMMIES

BIRMINGHAM have named young Aussie James Pearson as their first team member for 2023.

The 17-year-old has been handed another opportunity with the Brummies having made his British Speedway debut with the club this year – and team manager Laurence Rogers says they simply had to stick with the teenager.

Rogers said: “We would’ve been daft to let him go.

“2022 was always going to be a big learning experience for ‘Little P’ and speaking to him, he learnt so much during his first year of league racing in the UK.

“Birmingham fans saw at Perry Barr what he is capable of and now it’s all about stringing it all together.

“He’s comfortable and confident around our track and he’ll be going into all of the away meetings next year knowing what to expect at each venue.”
