MAY TO MANAGE GLADIATORS

PLYMOUTH have appointed former Somerset boss Garry May as their new team manager.

He takes over from Mattie Bates who remains on board as assistant and will concentrate on his role as co-promoter.

May’s first match in charge will be Tuesday’s home Championship clash with Berwick.

Club owner Mark Phillips said: “Garry’s record speaks for itself, and it is a real coup to get him on board.”
