LIONS SHOW HOME STRENGTH

LEICESTER are back in the Championship play-off places after a comfortable 57-33 home win over second-placed Scunthorpe.

The Lions again showed their strength at the Paul Chapman & Sons Arena, with Nick Morris (14) dropping just one point from five rides, skipper Kyle Howarth adding 11 and reserves Dan and Joe Thompson racking up 13 (paid 17) between them.

The result brought the Scorpions back down to earth after their big home win over Kent, with guest Danny King providing the most resistance on 12.

Morris said: “I really enjoyed that, it felt so good out there and it’s a good win for us.

“We’re a good team now and you can see that from this performance, we’ve got strength-in-depth and we all did well.

“It was a great night with good racing and a good win for Leicester so we’re happy.”
