GRAND FINAL DELAYED
POOLE’S home leg of the Championship Grand Final against Leicester will now take place next Wednesday (October 26).
The sides were due to resolve the silverware over this weekend, but poor weather in Dorset has forced the postponement of Friday’s meeting.
It means the Lions will now stage the first leg at the Paul Chapman & Sons Arena on Saturday.
Poole co-promoter Danny Ford said: “We have had a lot of rain this week and the track can barely take any more. The forecast for Friday is horrendous and so we have taken the decision to call off the meeting as early as possible in a bid to avoid inconveniencing anyone.
“We will go again on Wednesday, a date we had set aside for the Jubilee trophy and we will be confirming a revised date for that competition, which following Glasgow’s withdrawal will now be a straight two-leg battle against us and Leicester, in due course.”
