GOOD FRIDAY REVIEW
GLASGOW recorded the biggest Championship score of Good Friday with a 67-23 thrashing of Newcastle at Ashfield.
Craig Cook, Ulrich Ostergaard and debutant Ben Basso were all unbeaten by an opponent.
Poole opened their title defence with a 58-32 win over Oxford as the newcomers were brought down to earth, with Richard Lawson scoring a five-ride paid maximum.
Scunthorpe stunned Leicester 55-35 to gain rapid revenge for a recent heavy defeat in the East Midlands, with ex-Lion Ryan Douglas scoring 14 for the Scorpions.
Lewis Kerr was another unbeaten rider with a 15-point maximum as Redcar overcame mid-meeting pressure from Birmingham to defeat the Brummies 50-40.
And there was also a paid maximum for Sam Masters in Edinburgh’s 50-40 win over Berwick, as he combined with Josh Pickering for 5-1s in Heats 13 and 15.
In the National Development League, Belle Vue were 58-32 winners over Plymouth, with Sam McGurk scoring 13+3. Dan Gilkes scored a full maximum for the Centurions.
We will be resuming our full content service next week.
Rest In Peace Nigel.
