FOUR MORE FOR BANDITS

BERWICK have announced Danish racer Thomas Jorgensen will return to the club six years after his previous spell at Shielfield Park.

Jorgensen is one of four more confirmed signings for 2023 as Jye Etheridge, Jonas Knudsen and Nathan Stoneman all return after racing for the Bandits this year, joining new skipper Leon Flint.

But their 2022 No.1 Chris Harris, who swept the board at the club’s end-of-season presentations, won’t be returning to the Border side next season.

Co-owner Scott Courtney explained: “With all his European leagues and Long Track Grand Prix commitments, Chris simply couldn’t commit to a Saturday night club.

“We were always aware that he could only commit to 2022, and we will always remember the thrilling season he gave us in Bandits colours.

“His popularity was underlined by the reaction from the fans at our end-of-season party, and the fact that he made the long journey from the Midlands with his family that night just underlines why he ranks as one of Britain’s most popular riders.

“We wish Chris and his family all the best for 2023, and while he leaves some huge boots to fill we believe the seven we will track are all capable of delivering for the Bandits.”
