EARLY MOVE FOR SCORPIONS

SCUNTHORPE took an early decision to move their Championship opener with Plymouth to Sunday afternoon (3pm).

Promoter Rob Godfrey made the call more than 24 hours in advance of the scheduled Friday date due to the adverse weather forecast.

He said: “I’d like to say a huge thank-you to the Plymouth promotion for their full co-operation on agreeing to move our meeting to Sunday afternoon, when it became apparent that we wouldn’t be able to get a meeting on Friday evening.

“I didn’t want our supporters to have to wait another whole week to see some speedway, after such a long break. We know from very encouraging online ticket sales how many fans are keen to see some action.”
