CUP PROGRESS FOR BEARS

REDCAR moved into the KO Cup quarter-finals with a 51-39 win over Oxford for an eight-point aggregate triumph.

The tie went down to a last-heat decider with the Cheetahs needing a 5-1 to tie the aggregate scores – but home duo Charles Wright and Lewis Kerr raced to a 5-1 of their own against Scott Nicholls and Troy Batchelor.

Wright scored 13 for the Bears with Kerr adding 11+1 and reserve Jordan Jenkins carded an impressive nine, whilst Nicholls (8+2) and Batchelor (8+1) led the way for the Cheetahs.
